Travel Resources & Safety

Permits & Regulations

Requires the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Local Permit (NPR 2,000) and Sagarmatha National Park Permit (NPR 3,000), obtainable at Lukla or Monjo.

Altitude Safety

Elevation spans 2,840m to 5,545m (Kala Patthar). We mandate 2 full acclimatization days (Namche & Dingboche) to prevent Acute Mountain Sickness.

Essential Gear

Heavy thermals, a -15°C down sleeping bag, worn-in boots, UV sunglasses, and trekking poles. Heavy jackets can be rented in Namche Bazaar.

Access & Logistics

Accessed by a 30-min STOL flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Flights are weather-dependent. Helicopter charter services are available.
